When selecting new carpet, the first big step is to determine what color will look best in your home. It’s important to mention that flooring in a home should always be nature-inspired neutral color in order to provide design flexibility. Take all the accent colors (greens, reds, blues, etc.) out of consideration. It might seem like a fun idea to decorate with accent colors, but never for your new flooring.
It might seem like getting a sample from a local store is a quick and easy way to check out different color options, but BEWARE…samples that are in a brick-and-mortar store are seldom (if never) new and do not represent the current color dye-lot close enough for our design comfort. Colors also change substantially depending on the lighting in a home – no two homes are the same. Soo many customers are disappointed when their new flooring arrives, and the color is not what they intentioned – but not Plum customers. We send BRAND NEW samples to every customer prior to ordering their project.
It’s also incredibly important to keep the specific sample you ordered to ensure it’s a match for the new carpet you are having installed. Often carpet and flooring stores want you to return the sample to their showroom right away, this is never a good idea.
